Privacy Policy

Prism CV ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle information when you use the Prism CV mobile application ("App").

1. Anonymous Accounts

Prism CV does not require you to create an account with an email address or password. When you first open the App, an anonymous account is created automatically. You are never asked to provide personal identifying information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

Your anonymous account is identified by a randomly generated Support ID, visible in the App under Settings → About → Support ID. This ID is used exclusively for billing and support purposes.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Resume content: The resume text or PDF you upload as your master resume, including personal details such as your name, contact information, work history, education, and skills.
  • Job descriptions: Text you paste or enter when creating a new tailored application.

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Support ID: A randomly generated identifier created when you first open the App.
  • In-app purchase and subscription data: Managed through RevenueCat.
  • Application credits: A count of credits purchased and consumed, stored on our servers.
  • App usage logs: Anonymized logs of API calls, used for debugging and service improvement.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Email addresses
  • Passwords
  • Device location
  • Contacts or calendar data
  • Photos or camera data
  • Social network accounts

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the App's core functionality: parsing your resume, tailoring it to job descriptions, and generating cover letters.
  • Manage your subscription status and credit balance.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Improve the App's AI outputs and performance.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your resume content for advertising purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect device identifiers and purchase event data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.

OpenAI / AI Providers

Resume tailoring and cover letter generation is powered by AI language models. Your resume content and job descriptions are transmitted to our backend server, which uses AI APIs to generate your materials. Resume content is processed transiently and is not stored by the AI provider.

Expo / React Native Infrastructure

The App is built with Expo. Standard platform analytics and crash reporting may be collected by Apple or Google per their respective platform policies.

5. Data Retention

Your data (resume, job applications, and AI outputs) is retained as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

6. Your Rights and Data Deletion

In-App Deletion (Recommended)

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App:

  1. Open the App.
  2. Go to Settings (bottom navigation bar).
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm the deletion in the prompt.
Important: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel any active subscription. You must cancel separately through Google Play or Apple App Store.

External (Out-of-App) Deletion

If you have already uninstalled the App and wish to request deletion of your data, send an email to contact@prismcv.app with:

  • Subject: Data Deletion Request
  • Your Support ID (visible in Settings → About before uninstalling)

We will process your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Prism CV is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us at contact@prismcv.app.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our servers. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
